In today's political environment, we need leaders who are collaborative, principled and representative of our state. With the median age of Utah at 30, far below the national median, Utah should naturally have more younger voices present in the political process. Yet today, less than 1% of Utah's elected officials are younger than 35. We need young leaders in government, debating on the floor of the House and Senate, in city council chambers, in party leadership and in many other elected roles. Running for office isn't easy. You need training, connections, access and support.

To support young leaders aspiring to run for office, ELI will:

Host “How to Run & Win” trainings, collaborating with like-minded groups.

Provide neutral data and policy briefs to elected representatives on critical issues affecting future generations.

Connect “Emerging Leaders” with seasoned leaders and advocates in government, business and community through our ELI Mentor Program.
